During an already busy day at the Studio on Saturday (2 teams playing in the Ed Video’s 24 Hour Film Challenge), the Synn hosted some special guests in the form of the 501st Legion. The 501st Legion is the Canadian Garrison of the world’s premier Imperial Star Wars costuming fan club. You’ve undoubtedly seen members of the 501st from typical events like the annual National Fan Expo or in something a little more out of the ordinary like the recent St Patty’s Day Parade in Ottawa.

This day though, they arrived at Synn Studios headquarters in Guelph, ON to film a pair of promos for this summer’s Polaris 24 at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel. This will be the 24th annual gathering of sci-fi fans and is one of the appointment events on the annual summer convention calendar. So far, the 2010 special guest list includes Mark Sheppard (Battlestar Galactica), Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman), Kai Owen (Torchwood), and Alaina Huffman (Stargate Universe).

Synndicus Studios is one of this year’s sponsors, and in doing so is producing seveal of these promotional videos for Polaris based on characters from Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who. Stay tuned to this space to see the finished videos when they’re released.
