Thomas Gofton was born in Guelph, ON. Since he was young he always dreamed of working in the film industry. Working to achieve a post secondary success in the field of law, it wasn’t until his quest to the University of Guelph that he had his first accidental break in the film industry. During the summer of second year Thomas’ roommate and childhood friend Chad Archibald of Black Fawn Films saw the strive for something more in his friends eyes and with his up and coming feature horror film “KILL”, Chad needed a lead actor he could trust. Thomas was cast in Black Fawns “KILL” and thus a career in film was born. Thomas spent most of his time learning everything about an independent set and took what knowledge he could to create his own company Lynnvander Productions, a name which was inspired by a novel written by Gofton almost twelve years prior. Lynnvander initiated its first attempt at production in 2006 with the comedy titled “FOUR ACES” which Thomas wrote inspired by a broken heart.

As a successful debut film, FOUR ACES served as a stepping stone to future projects. In the summer of 2007 Lynnvander Productions teamed up with a few other smaller entrepreneurial ventures to create Guelph’s first film collective called Synn Studios Inc. Lead by Thomas, the project started to draw in some of the Tri-cities finest media makers from all genres and principals. Together, the team lead in production by Thomas has managed over 15 films such as the action western “SHADES OF GREY”, the abstract drama “NAMELESS”, the television series pitch “MIND’S EYE” and a second chance at the romantic comedy “FOUR ACES” which on this term can claim to be an award winning feature at the Local Focus’ Film Festival Series. During this time Thomas founded SharpCuts: Indie film and music festival, and is a founding leader in the film societies creation of a multi-city media festival set to spring in 2010.
