Lynnvander goes Lovecraft, and it’s Dynamite!

ReAnimator1

Lynnvander Studios is proud to announce a new partnership with Dynamite Entertainment to create a game based on H. P. Lovecraft’s “Herbert West: ReAnimator”. Drawing from both Lovecraft’s original story and the comic published by Dynamite featuring the incredible artwork from their series! This new co-operative game is coming to Kickstarter on September 18th, 2017.

And it’s now LIVE!  Also check out our coverage on The Nerdist.

Players will be working together, taking on the role of the narrator from the original story to try to perfect the reanimation serum. Herbert West, the Watch, and the Undead will wander Arkham gathering ingredients, tomes, and cadavers for their dark work. Sub-plots will develop around the players, forcing them to respond to the dark tidings of a world of the mythos. The art will include spine tingling scenes from the comic.

The final game will:

  • have an MSRP of $39.99
  • be up to four players
  • set the stage for future expansions

With an expected shipping date of February 2018 fans can get animated for all the exciting bonuses and rewards they’ll unlock as backers of the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign beginning September 18th! To learn more, please visit Dynamite on both Facebook and Twitter, or check out Lynnvander on Facebook and Twitter!

When you’re chasing bounty heads through the solar system, struggling to live from hand to mouth, you know what its like to be a bounty hunter. Join Spike, Jet, Faye, and Ed to deal with your unfinished business while you struggle to work together. You can even call on Ein for additional assistance when needed.

Work your way through sessions to finish your business, eating your beef with bell peppers, whether you have the woolongs to afford beef or not. Call up your contacts, hang out at the bar, or even just go shopping. The life of a cowboy is anything if not interesting.

Break up the team to chase down separate bounties, or stick together to gang up on them. Manage fuel, food, and money to ensure that you’re surviving from job to job, all the while meeting up with your favorite bounties and contacts from the show. Each character plays differently, with different abilities and goals.

So, jump into a zip craft and zoom from Gate to Gate as you explore the galaxy. Draw a new set of sessions each time for a new set of goals every time you play. A Game of Bounties is coming soon from Lynnvander Studios and Jasco Games.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game – Officially Released!

Our first major collaboration with Jasco Games, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game is officially available in stores! Read on for more information about the game!

We designed this fully cooperative game for 1-6 players with the spirit of the Buffyverse constantly in mind. You play as Buffy and the rest of the Scoobie Gang, each with unique special abilities pulled straight from the show (Buffy slays vampires and demons without breaking a sweat, Spike vamps out to take on large groups of baddies, Willow wields powerful magic to protect Sunnydale, etc…). You choose one of 6 Big Bads (The Master, Caleb, Glorificus, etc…) to face off against in a battle to protect the Townies that populate Sunnydale from rampaging vampires and demons. While you try to uncover the Big Bad’s plot, and prepare for a final showdown, you have to fight your way past familiar Monsters of the Week including standout characters like Darla and Mr. Trick. We’ve been very careful to include mechanics that reflect memorable moments from the show wherever possible. If you find yourself facing off against Sweet, the dancing demon, be prepared to sing your strategies to each other or suffer wounds that will bring the apocalypse ever closer! On top of being a game built for Buffy fans, this is a fast-paced and easy to learn experience – a simple cooperative game that can be played in 40 to 60 minutes as a warm up for hardcore gamers or as a gateway game for less experienced gamers. Learning the game is easy but protecting all of the Townies is not. Each round, more and more Townies find themselves in need of rescue, and vampires and demons creep out of every shadow.  The core strategy comes from figuring out how to protect the Townies while gathering the necessary cards to defeat the Monsters of the Week and eventually the Big Bad.

Another place where we really worked to polish the game is in the visuals. Every component uses completely original art, including portraits for all of the playable characters and the six Big Bads:Big_bad

This will be the first of many licensed games designed and developed by Lynnvander Studios for Jasco Games, with titles like Cowboy Bebop, and Dragonball Z coming soon!

More about Legacy of Mana

Legacy of Mana is a Pathfinder and Dungeon’s & Dragons 5E Roleplaying Game  compatible setting guide, created by Thomas Gofton of Lynnvander Studios. Thomas Gofton is the creative force behind board games like Albion’s Legacy, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer: the Board Game, and he’s created an original roleplaying setting like nothing else we’ve ever seen. Norse Games (sister company of Norse Foundry) is excited by what this setting has to offer, and we know you will be too:

bio-pic4

Imagine a world where Wizards and Sorcerers don’t reign supreme: a world where magic is as powerful as ever, and flows from the core of the planet itself through every living thing in the form of mana, and yet, those who wield it, those who are most attuned to it, fear for their lives, hunted to near extinction by an army of ordinary soldiers. The knights of this army carved their way across the land, empowered by alchemically crafted swords that thirsted for and destroyed mana in all of its forms, absorbing lightning bolts as harmless white light, draining magical creatures of their very life force, and converting the stored energy drained from the mana into powerful blasts of energy.
